Iman Buker
Iman Buker is the director of student affairs for Al Madina’s Arabic Program. A seasoned educator and a lifelong student of the Arabic Language, she has found her passion structuring and developing programs for adults and children to grow in love and proficiency in the Arabic language.
Iman graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology. She then became a science teacher and was responsible for nurturing children and teens in physical sciences while ensuring that those sciences were always taught in the envelope of Islam and tawheed. She then became the head of the science department at Noor-Ul-Iman School in Monmouth Junction, NJ.
Iman moved to Istanbul in 2017 where she spent five years as an integral part of Al-Madina’s Suhba Program in Istanbul. She continued her studies in Arabic as well as completing a 10-month Arabic intensive program whose pedagogy was a comparative study of modern psychological and social realities against the backdrop of traditional Islamic spirituality.
